July Card Class #3 Door Hanger

I love the Door Hanger from the Art Philosophy cartridge on page 25 Font Layer/S.  I can think of so many things to do with this but here is just one way you can decorate it.

I used the Crusin Paper Packet X7154B and I love the scrabble paper that is in this pack.  Great gift for someone you play Words With Friends with.  This would be great to use on game night over a water bottle with a Crystal light packet and some gum or filled with goodies that you like to have on hand.  Oh Chocolate! Chocolate would be gooooood!  Just sayin'...
I do these at fit to page and I can get 2 to a page.
The outside decoration was from page 34 Square7 and Decorative Layer to match.  It is stamped with this month's Stamp of the Month Live Out Loud S1207.  July 31 is the last day this will be available so get yours now.  The button is the Pewter Badge Buttons Z1704 I like to have these on hand, they have and adhesive-back to them and you can put them anywhere.

All products are Close To My Heart.

This is the last day for ordering out of the Spring/Summer catalog for some of the products.  Check here for the colors that will no longer be available.  Aug 1 will begin the New Autumn/Winter Idea Book.  Lots of changes so be sure to get what you want now.  Order what you want here!

Be sure to check out the While Supplies Last for some great deals.  Once they are gone, well you know the rest.

I will start showing you what I have made with the New Artiste Cricut cartridge tomorrow so check back to see it.

Card and Sweet Treat Holder from the July Card Class #2

I have been making 1 Christmas card each month in my Class to get a jump on Christmas.  This month I wanted to make a hanging ornament so I created this one in my Gypsy using the Art Philosophy cartridge.  Using Olive cardstock and a page from the new Pear & Partridge Paper Packet.  You are going to love this one!  New Products will be available Aug 1st.
Here I used the card layer from page 47 and hid the cutout in the center.  I put the oval from the center of the Decorative Layer hiding everything but the oval and placed in the center near the top.  Creating a second layer in the Gypsy I cut out the Decorative Layer/S the same size as the oval so they would match up.  I also put the sweet treat tag on this layer.  In the 4th layer I use the ornament from Layer/S I cut 2 out of the new Ruby.  In the 5th layer I cut out Shape2 from page 36 to use for the pop up part of the Title in Colonial White which I stamped with Christmas Love D1492 in Ruby.  I just masked off the Star.  If you don't have a Gypsy you can do the same thing in the Cricut Craftroom.
I randomly stamped the background on the card using 3 of the stamps from Happy Clusters C1471
The Sweet Treat Holder is scored and folded to have a flat bottom.
The Sky really is the limit!!!  If you can imagine it you can make it.  Give it a try and see what you come up with.

July's Card Class

Here is one of the cards that we made in class.  Using my Gypsy and the butterfly card from page 55 in the Art Philosophy handbook at 8 1/2",  I added the Decorative Layer oval from page 55 and the hide feature on the outside layer leaving only the oval.  I then placed it in the center at the topof the front of the card.   I created another layer and cut the Decorative Layer/Shift and used the same measurements as the oval that I made before so it would make a frame.
I cut out the tag with the matching butterfly, bttrfly2 added in my Gypsy and rotated at 45degrees.  Then cut 2 flowers, the border on the tag is a leftover piece from my 4th of July Cards.  I keep all my little leftover pieces and they do come in handy.
I love creating things in my Gypsy.

All the products used are Close to my Heart.
Cardstock:  Baby Pink, Daisy White, Hollyhock.
Exclusive Inks:  Blush, Hollyhock
Art Philosophy Z1686  Cricut cartridge
Ribbon is from the pink collection.

I sponged all the edges and closed the card and sponged over the butterflies so the soft shapes of the butterflies transferred to the inside of the card too.
Hope you try something new too.

Diaper Cake No. 2

Last weekend Jennifer and I went to a Baby Shower and this is the Diaper Cake that we made.  This one has receiving blankets folded up and wrapped around to cover the rubber bands that hold the diapers together.  Then each layer was wrapped with a ribbon.  We cut stars from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge in different sizes, scored and folded them to look 3D.  They were stamped randomly and attached to the outside of the cake. The star on top was 2 of the stars put together with a silver pearl in the center and placed on a dowel in the center.  The stamp set is the Stamp of the Month for Aug 2012.  It will be available Aug 1.
You can see the other diaper cake here.

A Birthday Vase for my Mom

This is a vase the my DIL Jenn made for my Mom's birthday.  She is 92 and she loves to do crossword puzzles and word search games.  She never has a pencil that she can find so Jenn made her this vase that is surrounded with pink and chocolate mechanical pencil's.  Jenn loaded the top with chocolates too and then made flowers that she put on picks and used Hershey Kiss' for the centers. She used a 2" wide chocolate Ribbon to finish it off. Jenn put the card on a pick too. Sooooo Darn Cute!!! My Mom just loves it. But all the candy is gone, imagine that! Guess I waited to long to take the picture.  I should know better when chocolate is involved...
What a fun gift to make and to give.  She makes the cutest things.
Hope I can do all the things my Mom does when I am 92....
