Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving

I hope you are all having a Happy Thanksgiving.  It is a time for family and friends to get together and enjoy each other.  This year we are doing something very different we are spending it with just our kids and Grandkids.  We usually do Thanksgiving with all the extended family and that ment around 93 if everyone came but usually around 60+.  So this year it will be the 9 of us and the 2 dogs. Our age range will be from 3 to 94.
My DIL and I did all of our shopping at 6am on Wed morning and we were done pretty quick.  We even ran into a couple of friends doing the same thing.
My Daughter brought out 2 Turkeys that she got on Monday so that was all taken care of.  We will start out our day with Bacon and egg muffins fresh eggs from our chickens.  It is recipe that I got off Pinterest.   Then around 1pm we will have a family tradition appetizer of Bacon wrapped little smokies that are baked with brown sugar.  My MIL used to make these for every holiday and they were the best.  She has been gone 11 years now and we miss her a lot.
My oldest Granddaughter will set the table.  She loves to do that for any occasion.  This was what she did

Our meal will be Turkey with stuffing, fresh greenbeans with silvered almonds, mashed potatoes, and rolls.  For desert we will have Apple pie, Pumpkin Cheesecake, with Ice Cream.  Of course there will be Champagne, all of use girls like our Champagne.
The day will pretty much be the same because the Cow's need to be checked, fences need to be mended, the stalls still need to be cleaned and the chicken coupe too! They will all be fed morning and evening too! That is a never ending daily job, but a fun one to.
I hope your holiday is a joyful as ours.

Happy Thanksgiving

Fall Wedding Card from Artfully Sent and Anna Griffin

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...Here is a Wedding card that my friend Helen need for you Granddaughter's wedding.  Her colors were fall colors.  She loved the pop-up wedding cake so we started with that.  We used the Pathfinding paper pack.  After cutting out the inside from page 33 from the Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge.  It is the pop-up using the C key plus the shift key or if you have the Explore you can type in #M10675B in the image search and it will bring the entire card up for you.

To make the cake white I cut the insert again out of Daisy White cardstock and the ran it through my sizzix with our Quaterfoil embossing folder  Then I cut all the cake decorations out of Barn Red and Canary.  I used pearl strands that I have in my stash for the bottom of each tier of the cake and the center of the flowers.  Helen found a stamp with the sentiment she wanted.  She sponged around everything with Autumn Terracotta.

For the front of the card I found another card that I liked this one is from Anna Griffin Soiree collection.  I had to cut the whole card out and then cut off a rectangle so the sides would match.  I cut it out using our Glitter Paper Brown.  I cut out the Mr. & Mrs. first in the lighter shade of the brown glitter paper and the & in silver.  The name is cut in the lighter brown glitter paper too and the ribbon background is honey.

This was another fun card to come up with for Helen.  We also made an envelope to match and of course I forgot to take a picture of that!

November Kard Swap group

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...Well I can't believe that Thanksgiving is next week.  This month our group met at Jeannine's house.  She always makes us a little something extra and this time was no exception.
Here is the treat box that held 4 Hersey's Treasures.  Yep mine are gone!  Aw you know you would have eaten them too!!!  They were delicious.
The box is cut from Art Philosophy page 22, the tag is on page 64, the leaf is from page 78
We always do a make-n-take that the hostess will do and Jeannine had us make Gift Card Holders.
The first one I made using a paper that had a horse one it.  Well you know me and my horses!  The card is cut using a Sizzix scallop square die.  You place 2 sheets together and cut them with the die at the same time.  Then you cut it all the way the 2 and tape the sides together leaving the on scallop un taped so it can overlap the bottom piece when you close it.  Use a piercing tool to make a hole and a brad to work like a hinge. The 3-D bow is cut from the Z1790 Artiste Cricut cartridge and so is the flower.
The second on uses the same Sizzix die you just don't cut through the one side.  The card is cut and then scored and then you run it through the Sizzix machine.  You can also use the Z1790 Artiste Cricut cartridge it has 2 gift card holders

Tamara used Memory Box Die and a Sizzix embossing folder to make this cute christmas tree card.

This is what it looks on the inside how cut is that.

Next was Laurie's card which is a tea bag fold card.

Erin made a faux tri fold card.  I love the colors it uses the stamp set D1550 Happy Autumn

Here is the inside and what makes if a faux tri fold.  The paper is  CTMH too!

Debb used a border punch and then stamped and cut out the fall leaves from CTMH.

On the in side it is stamped with a retired CTMH stamp set and punched with a scallop oval punch

Kathy's is a center Tri-fold card with a belly band.  I love all the colors.  The rain boot is a Stamps for life stamp and die cut.

The inside is stamped with Close to my heart retired C1495 Just chillin and Stamp of life.

Lani made a easel card using Spellbinders.

Here is is from the side so you can see how it sits.

Jeannine made a snowman card that opens up into a 3 tier snowman.  The snowballs are cut from Spellbinders.  The face is a stamp from Peachy Keen.  The hat is cut from Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut cartridge

Here it is opened up and stamped with CTMH C1506 Flakey Friends.  What a fun card to make and get.

Donna made a 60/40 card.  She use a random stamp technique for the front and a strip on the inside.
You never have to worry whether you have a coordinating paper or not because you can make it just the way you want it.

You can see the strip on the inside as well as the 60/40 opening.  I love the colors she choose.

I made a post-it-note holder that I cut from the Z1790 Artiste Cricut cartridge.  It is a little album but I hid all the holes except the 2 on the flap to put the Z1921 bakers twine in.  I used the Pathfinding paper pack and Kraft paper

Shopping Spree

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...Since I am a caregiver for my Mom who is going to be 95 this year.  I really don't get out much.  I have help come in when I am prepping for and holding my classes during the day.  The other day my DIL and I decided to go to Kirklands and check them out.  We had seen it, but had not had a chance to go it.  It is a home goods kind of store and I was like a kid in a candy store.

I found this little sandwich board and when I saw it I just flipped out.  What a cute welcome sign it would make for my classes.  Luckily I have plenty of sidewalk chalk that the Grand kids play with to write on my new sign.  It will greet my customers when they come to my classes.  Now I will need to learn how to do the chalkboard writing.

One Crafty Little Bird

For well over 2 weeks now this bird comes and sits on the glass of my sliding glass door in my scrapbook room.  He pecks as if to say hey I want to make one of those too!  He stays the whole time I am in my scrap room.   I don't know what kind of bird it is. Or whether it is male or female.  He is very friendly and likes to talk to me.  I think he is trying to give me some new tips and techniques to try.
When the dog comes in and lays by the door he will flutter around and tease her knowing full well she can't get to him with the glass between them.  It is very entertaining.
If my curtains are closed he will sit on the glass and peck at the window until I open them up then he just starts chirping away.  Not the obnoxious squawk but friendly chirps.  I am sure he is telling me all about his latest adventure and how cute it would look in a My Crush Book.
Maybe he has heard about the Studio J Lucky 5 special this month and would like to make one of those and tell his story that way.  You can read all about Lucky 5 here
I don't know how he is able to stay on the glass like that.  He never slides just stays in that same spot for for long periods.
