Cutting Soda Cans With My Cricut

Check out what I did with my Cricut, a soda can, and the Cuttlebug.  I have been thinking about this for a long time and I finally desided that today was the day.  I got an aluminum can from the recycle bin and cut the top and the bottom off.  I cut through the barcode part to open it up into a rectangle. It ends up being about 3 3/4" x 8" if you are careful with your cutting.  On to my Cricut mat it went, and here you have it.
I cut the tag from the cartridge Walk In My Garden.  The Butterfly's  were cut using Everyday Paper Dolls.  I also stamped with Close To My Heart stamp set Typeface. Then I used an embossing plate on the tags and an embossing folder on the Butterfly's.   How fun is that!  Now to put them in my garden next to my Pumpkins and my Stevia plants.  I have some small shepards hooks that I will use to hang the tags from.  I will attach the Butterflies with epoxy I think!  Hummmm!
More pictures to come...

These are shiny and will move some in the breeze so that will probably help with keeping some of the birds out of the vegatable garden.  Well I can hope can't I. Hee Hee!

DO BE CARFUL IT IS SHARP!!!

Would you like a tutorial?  Just let me know.

Here is the vases that my DIL Jenn did for the teachers.  She covered the vase with multi colored pencils and tied a ruler ribbon around.  So easy and so cute.
Here is the other vase.  Each child brought a flower so the vases were full.  I love all the different colors.

I am using this post for the Flashback Friday Challenge 24.0.  This is still one of my favorite Stamp Sets
Here is my re post of the first masculine card that I posted on my blog. I made this for my husband on Father's day 2011.  The tile was a gift from 2009 using the same stamp.
Here is a link to the home page for Flashback Friday Challenge.

You can see my post for Father's Day here.  It has all the details so check it out and let me know what you think.  It is so funny to look at things you made a long time ago.  But I still like this one.
Thanks for stopping by.

My New Happy Bag

Those of you who check in often know how I love my Happy Bags.  My SIL Debb makes me these bags for different occasions.  Well not to long ago we had the Tour De California ride by our house.  It was a very big deal.  They closed the road in both direction for the riders.  Debb called the night before and said she and Tom were coming over early to get a good seat and watch the riders go by.  I worked at my grandsons school that day so I would not be home but my hubby would be their.
Okay to make a short story long...  The next day I went into my scrapbook room and laying on the table was my new and now favorite Happy Bag.
It has pictures of paintings by Cezanne, Gauguin, Renoir, Monet, and many more.  I was in France last year and got to see all these paintings and the homes of most of the painters so I really love this bag.  It takes me back to France every time I look at it, and that makes me smile. The inside has lots of paintings too.  If you have ever been to Giverny to Claude Monet home the yellow is the same color as his Dining room.  Very vibrant!  I love it.
While in France I took pictures with my stripped Happy Bag everywhere we went.  So on my next trip I will take this one.
You can see all my Happy Bags that Debb has made me here.

Thanks Debb I just love it.

One of my Granddaughters Birthday Wreath

Here is another Wreath that I have made.  This one was for my oldest Granddaughter.  She screamed when she saw it.  I use a piece of pipe insulation for the wreath and tied the tulle around the pipe insulation. I used three different colors and alternated them in order.  When it was done I cut all the edges to be the same length or close to it.  I fluffed up all the edges to make it full.  The letters were cut out of cereal boxes using my Cricut and then glittered.  The number was a wooden number and it was glittered.  Then I added some embellishments too.  I put a bow on it and made a loop on the back to hang it with.

Red, White, and Blue

I think that 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays.  I love the colors, parade's, BBQ's and all the decorations to go along with it.  I was at a card class that a friend Mary had last month and we made a card like this for Father's Day with earth tones.  Mary does not have a blog or I would link up to it.  She is very talented and I have a great time going to her classes.  I used the concept for this card.  I taught it in my class as a Red, White, and Blue card.  With her permission of course.
What a great way to use up those little strips.  Now you know what to do with them too.
I used my Xyron to add sticky to a piece of Cranberry cardstock.  I cut it to the width that would just fit in my Xyron.  That is the easy way to make the whole piece sticky.
Then using strips of 1/4" and 1/2" wide any length will do.  You just start arranging them and cutting them to fit the way you like.  There is no wrong or right way, just your way.  They will all be different.
Next I backed it with a Black mat.  Cut a square and a mat and stamped it.  The card is a tri-fold and of course some Cranberry ribbon.

Cardstock:  Moonstruck, Black, Cranberry, Daisy White
Exclusive Inks:  Z2134 Moonstruck, Z2116 Cranberry
Stamp Set:  D1458 American Celebration
Paper Pack Superhero, and any leftovers from my stash that were red, white, or blue.  (It is so fun to use it all up)!!!!
Let me know what you do with your leftovers........

Something Fun To Share

Here is a cute picture of my dog at the computer.  I wonder what he is thinking.
I don't know why she spends so much time on this thing!  It's boring, there is not even a ball to chase.
I just keep waiting but nothing ever happens.....  I better not look away, somthing great will happen I just know it.
