I have been working on Collage Canvases

I can't believe is has been this long since my last post!  I will do better in the future!

I have been having fun working with canvases and using up scraps from my Junk Journals.  I love to collage I find it very therapeutic. Selecting the papers or scraps, tearing the papers, and then gluing them down.  It is very satisfying as it comes together.  The best part is, if you don't like it you just tear up another piece and glue it over until you like it.  Very Simple!  LOL

This is how I usually begin by picking out papers and the ripping them up and see how and where they fit in.  These are all digitals that I printed up for a Journal that I was making.  You can use anything that you like.

Here are 3 of the canvases that I made.  Not sure if I will stencil over them or add vinyl wording on top.  These are so fun to make.  Let me know in the comments if you have made them or if you would like to make them.

I am doing a Boutique this Month  Oct 21st and Oct 22 at the Concord Elks Lodge in Concord, California.

If you do stop by please come and say Hi!

New Sign 2

Well I guess this a sign making month!  In my previous post I showed you a sign that I had made for my crafting studio.  This one is for me to take on the road to crat fairs.
I added all my information into Cricut Design Space in separate text boxes.  I added a square to the background then uploaded all the png logos. I used the simple create and took out everything I didn't  want.  I saved them as print then cut.  I flattened the whole thing and then printed it and the loaded it into my Cricut Maker and cut it out.  I backed it with Juniper cardstock and glued it all to an 8x10 canvas.

Thanks for stopping by.

My New Sign

Today I made myself a new sign for my craftroom.  CTMH corp had posted a picture of one and I just had to make it.  It was so easy to create. I have a 10 pack of 8x10's that I got at Walmart a long time ago.  I use some white Acrylic craft paint in a plastic cup then added a couple of drops of Lagoon Re-inker from CTMH.  Mixed it up but not completely and spread it on my canvas with a pallet knife.  I just kept spreading it until I was happy with it.
You can see below I just used a tiny little bit of paint.

This is the Acrylic Paint that I used and the Lagoon Re-inker.

Here is my canvas all painted.  I cut out my words using my Cricut Maker and Design Space.  The Vinyl that I used is a silver permanent vinyl that I got from Amazon.

I applied the vinyl and this is the end result.  I just love it and the saying too.

Here it is hanging on my wall!

Thanks for stopping by.

Fresh Cut Trees

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

Here is my first attempt on the SVG file from Better Life Blog on FB.  I made a couple of mistakes but I like how it turned out.  I still want to make holes in the tree and light it up and one hole where the head light is.  I will post a picture when I get it finished.
Here is is so far.

I used Cricut Iron-on HTV

Black
Red

Iron-On Foil
Green
Silver
I cut everything with my Cricut Maker and Ironed it all on with my Cricut Easy Press!  The Easy Press make it so easy.
It will be a piece of cake now that I have made one.  I can break down all the pieces to cut multiples on each mat to get the most out of my vinyl.

You can't see how shinny the Tree and the silver for the wheels are but it turned out great.  I did not let the tree cool enough before I pull off the carrier sheet and I do know better!  Lesson learned!

The Canvas is 11x14 from Wal-Mart it came as a 2 pack for $5.00.

I would like to make more of these as gift for next year.

Belvedere Palace

The Belvedere Palace is a beautiful Palace.  It houses the Gustav Klimt 1907 Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I or the Lady in Gold or Woman in Gold.  Also the Kiss is housed at the Belvedere too.  This photo was on the wall above our bed in our Hotel Am Konzerthaus in Vienna.  We could walk to the Lower Belevedere by the stables and then walk through the gardens from our hotel in about 10 to 15 minutes. The Palace itself is 350 years old.

When you are in Venna or Wien where do you like to go or stay?
When I saw this painting I thought, oh my friends would love to make something like this. It looks a lot like Mixed Media that we are doing.  Well not on this scale or out of gold either.  But it is very inspirational none the less. This is one I did a while ago.  Okay so not even close but you know what I mean by inspirational.  I love making things that make me smile.  I have to laugh that I am even putting something I did even near to something and famous Artist had done.

The Upper Palace or Summer Palace is Beautiful with flower and fountains out in front.  Don't worry I won't show you something I made with this one.  Just enjoy the beauty.  It was a warm sunny day and the clouds arranged themselves perfectly don't you think.

Mixed Media Art Class

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...I gave a mixed media art class to a couple of friends that are regulars in my Card Classes too.  They both wanted to make them for specific rooms.  Pam wanted it for her newly updated Master bathroom.  Jeannine wanted hers for her scrapbook room.  So we started by picking paper from my stash.  They then picked there colors for the canvas.
These are so fun to make and if you don't like any part of it you just modge podge more paper or paint over what every you don't like.  You can keep doing it until you have what you want.  It makes it fool proof.

I think they had a good time.  They painted, sponged, textured, and blinged, how fun is that.

Here is a close of Pam's

Here is a close of Jeannine's

I think one of the fun things is to go through my stash for all the things you can place all around.
FYI- we tried to stamp on the canvas and that did not work to well.  After they left I thought we should have stamped on tissue paper with StazOn then tore around the stamped image and then Modge Podged it on the canvas.  Not sure why I couldn't think of that while we were working but that is how it is sometimes.

The stamp is a Julie Nutting stamp I got on Amazon.com
The stencil I made from the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge I cut out several different ones so they could choose which one they wanted to use.
The paper is all CTMH from my discontinued stash.
The bling is also CTMH from my discontinued stash.
The flowers and butterflies are CTMH from my discontinued stash.
The key and metal flowers are CTMH from my discontinued stash.

I would love for you to join me in one of my classes!

In case you didn't see the one I made here it is!

Mixed Media Art Work

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...I have a new passion and it is mixed media.  I went to my friend Lori's house over the weekend and this is what I created.  I used the Heartstrings paper pack to make this.  The Princess is a Julie Nutting Doll cling rubber stamp.  Lori had 8x10 canvases that she bought at Michael's.  They come in a 10 pack. Guess I will be getting that pack for sure.  Craft paint in several colors,  3 shades of pink and 2 shade of blue and one off white.

You just rip the paper that you want to use and then lay it out any way you want it.  You will then Modge Podge the canvas and the back of the paper.  Place it on the canvas and give the whole thing another coat over the top.  Let this dry.  While it is drying you can stamp out the doll Which is a Julie Nutting you can find them on Amazon.com .  I stamped it 3 times to get all the parts of the dress.  I also stamped the gloves in White Daisy.
When the canvas is completely dry you can just brush random color of paint over the paper.  You can use bubble wrap with paint on it to give texture to it too.  I used a stencil and painted over the stencil then lifted it off.  I did this in a couple of colors...  Don't worry because if you make a mistake just paint over it and you can also spray some water on it to smooth it out too.
Be sure to paint an area that you can write on.
Layer the pieces on on the doll with Modge Podge.  Let this dry.
Then the fun part begins.  Get all you embellishments out and start playing until you have what you like.  I added pearls for a necklace and an earring.   Flower, leaves, some sequins and I can't forget the lace.  I used the Golden Yellow ShinHan marker to color her hair.  I really like how it turned out.
This one will be going to my Granddaughter who will be 4 soon.
Would you like to make on?  Just let me know michelesinkitstampit@gmail.com
