I say it all the time but I love working with Close To My Heart. This Saturday me and 4 other Consultants drove to Sacramento for the Making Connections business builder and creative session. What a great Day it was! #makingconnections I started at 6 am driving to a McDonald's in Livermore to pick up Elaine, Lori, Joyce, and Tina. We loaded up all the crafting supplies for the 5 of us. Hummm 5 women 1 day of crafting. Good thing I have a big vehicle!!! No pictures of the back loaded up. Darn I missed out on that one!
Off we went. We decided to make a pit stop at McDonald's in Sacramento. The drive thru was packed but we only wanted to go inside. I drove around and parked, we all got out and went to the door only to find out that it was closed for remodeling. Can you believe that? We had to walk across the street to an AM/PM market. Lori and Joyce had spotted a homeless man sleeping on a bench so they decided to purchase a tuna sandwich some chips a drink and some doughnuts. When we got back to the car the homeless man was nowhere to be found. They asked around if anyone had seen which way he went. Someone thought he went to the stop light so we drove around looking for him. We never did find him. Now we had one sandwich to share between the 5 of us. We laughed and laughed.
When we arrived at the Hilton Sacramento we unloaded all of our stuff and and set if up in the Brandywine room. There were several consultants there so we got busy creating things and working on projects. Everyone had stories to tell and we had a great day creating. The time just flew by 10 am till 4 pm.
At 4 we loaded up all our stuff and headed out to dinner. Check in for the evening Making Connections was from 5 to 6 so that gave us time to mingle and meet some of the other consultants that we did not know. I always enjoy that part. We also were able to purchase a Base and Bling sheet that is exclusive to this event and the proceeds so to Operation Smile. We raised or $900.00 that night. Such a great cause!
They passed out 3 bags full of product to make 2- 2 page layouts and 1 bag full of stamp sets, card bases, sequins, Shimmer Trim and 2 My Crush for her mini albums. I barely had room to check it all out in.
During the break we all gathered together for a group selfie. Monica is our selfie Queen! She is also our hashtag Queen #ctmhmakingconnections.
We were also introduced to the Instax Camera. By the way they will be giving away 50 of these at Convention. #ctmhconvention. You can join my team and join me in Disneyland for 3 fun filled days of business and creative goodness.
PS these come in lots of different colors.
I can't wait to get the first look at our new Annual Inspirations 2015 / 2016.

The evening started out with some great things to inspire us and helps us out in our business. I love how CTMH lets us know they are always there for us and thinking about us. LOVE CTMH!! They had handouts and I took lots of notes.

Sadly it was time to pack up and head back home. We said goodby to our CTMH friends and loaded everything back up and off we went.
We arrived back in Livermore where we all met to begin our day. It was a McDonald's and wouldn't you know it it was closed for the evening. So yes, you guessed it we had to walk across the street to another AM/PM. It was the perfect ending to a fun filled, creative day. Thanks ladies for all the laughs, great company and I can't wait to do it again.
Okay. My last post went bye bye. That's weird. ANYWAY, as I already said and maybe this will be posted twice now. (That just means it's twice as good). You left out about the part of having to drive around the McDonald's for our pit stop. We circled the building at least twice because the drive thru line was back up (ha ha) and we couldn't find a good parking spot to pull into. After all of that we piled out and that's when we saw the sign that the lobby was closed, but the drive thru was open.
ReplyDeleteThen at the crop part, we laughed so hard that other tables of consultants, quietly working, were giving us funny looks. Mainly because Lori thought I said my hubby was driving a "fork lift" when I really said he was driving for Lyft (like Uber) and that he has to put a pink stuffed mustache in the rear view mirror. Which sent some of us to the bathroom before we had an accident laughing so hard. That's when Lori found mustache stickers and added one to the page I was making for my Mom's calendar I give her at Christmas. She is going to wonder why her son in law is wearing a fake mustache and pink tie.
We had such a good time that when it was time to leave I couldn't believe we'd been there at the hotel for almost 12 hours. No wonder I slept in this morning.
Can't wait for our next CTMH adventure! I love my CTMH consultant friends . . . they are my sisters from other mommas. Just saying!
You are so right Elaine, I did leave out some of the best parts. It really was a fun day we laughed almost the entire day!
DeleteThat was some pretty funny stuff. We were like a group of fifth graders. lol
ReplyDeleteYes we were Lori, I would do it again in a heart beat. Fun times!
