July's Card Class

Here is one of the cards that we made in class.  Using my Gypsy and the butterfly card from page 55 in the Art Philosophy handbook at 8 1/2",  I added the Decorative Layer oval from page 55 and the hide feature on the outside layer leaving only the oval.  I then placed it in the center at the topof the front of the card.   I created another layer and cut the Decorative Layer/Shift and used the same measurements as the oval that I made before so it would make a frame.
I cut out the tag with the matching butterfly, bttrfly2 added in my Gypsy and rotated at 45degrees.  Then cut 2 flowers, the border on the tag is a leftover piece from my 4th of July Cards.  I keep all my little leftover pieces and they do come in handy.
I love creating things in my Gypsy.

All the products used are Close to my Heart.
Cardstock:  Baby Pink, Daisy White, Hollyhock.
Exclusive Inks:  Blush, Hollyhock
Art Philosophy Z1686  Cricut cartridge
Ribbon is from the pink collection.

I sponged all the edges and closed the card and sponged over the butterflies so the soft shapes of the butterflies transferred to the inside of the card too.
Hope you try something new too.

Diaper Cake No. 2

Last weekend Jennifer and I went to a Baby Shower and this is the Diaper Cake that we made.  This one has receiving blankets folded up and wrapped around to cover the rubber bands that hold the diapers together.  Then each layer was wrapped with a ribbon.  We cut stars from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge in different sizes, scored and folded them to look 3D.  They were stamped randomly and attached to the outside of the cake. The star on top was 2 of the stars put together with a silver pearl in the center and placed on a dowel in the center.  The stamp set is the Stamp of the Month for Aug 2012.  It will be available Aug 1.
You can see the other diaper cake here.

Diaper Cake for my Daughters Baby Shower

Talk about time flying.  One year ago we were getting ready for my Daughters Baby Shower.  We had it at our local Resturant Guadalahara.  I made all the favors, banners, diaper cake, onsies and dress cut outs for leaving words of wisdom for the new mother -to- be, and an Altered Compisition Book to list all the gifts and who gave them.
Since I started my blog in May 2011 I guess I never posted all the goodies that I made.  I had just gotten my Imagine for Christmas so the push was on to get every thing done in time.  I had so much fun, my DIL helped me put eveything together.  My DIL (Jenn) and I have made lots of invitations and shower favors and all the goodies that go with them.  We were calling ourselves the It Girls, if you need It we can make It, and we did.  But this time it was extra special it was for my Daugher.
Here is the Diaper Cake.  I just wish I had my Art Philosophy Cartridge to make all flowers.  They were all cut using 4x4 squares trimed, folded, rolled and sponged.  Days and Day of it.

When we came home from the shower and we were unloading the car my 5 year old Grandson was standing by the car and watching everything come out.  You could tell that he had something on his mine but he just keeped standing there and waiting.  Finally he asked me "Grandama didn't you just come from the baby shower"?  Yes we did I said, then he put his arms up in the air and asked "then where is the baby"?  We all just started laughing.  You never know what they are thinking.

I will post more pictures soon.

Tea Light and Art Philosophy

I thought that I would share this today.  It is a 0 calorie tiny cake inspired by the Birthday Pop at Starbucks.  Every time I see it that is excatly what I think of.  I just love making these. They make me smile.
I used one of the Flowers on the Art Philosophy Cartridge as well as 2 different scallop circles on the cartridge too.  I used the 1 1/4" Circle punch in the center of the 2" scallop on the bottom to give you access to the battery and the on/off switch.  Or if you have a Gypsy you can design it with the circle in the center.
I am not near my Cricut to give you all the detail so I will post that soon.  But here is the picture and the products used.
All products are CMTH
Ribbon is from the Pink Collection Z1384
Ink Tulip
Blush Cardstock
Sweet Leaf Cardstock

Here are some Favor items for Weddings or Showers

I wanted to share some Wedding Favors and Shower Favors that my DIL and I have made.  The little purse is a candy holder,  The photo holder is a large binder clip.  The Tea Light holder is a box cut from the Wedding Solution Cricut Cartridge, The purse is printed and cut with my Cricut imagine and the Nursery Tails Cartridge.  I love doing Wedding invitations, Showers, Weddings, and  Baby Showers too. If you need help or ideas just contact me. The Milk Carton is a Sizzix Die Cut.

The Tea light is a battery Tea light.  They make a perfect light to put with the paper box.

This is what it looks like with the lights out.  Sorry the photo is blurry.  I will have to get out my tripod next time.  You can imagine these at every plate when you have dimmed all the lights.  It is very elegant looking with the flicker of the tea light.
The box is cut at 11.52 or fit to page.  The finished box ends up about 3" The tea light is covered with the CMTH scallop punch and pink Ric- rack.  I made little flowers and stamped the top scallop with a border stamp that I molded to fit in a circle on the top.  That is what is so cool about the CMTH clear acrylic stamp you can bend them to fit a shape that you need.  I do that all the time to form fit to my needs.  You cannot do that with any other stamps that I know of.  That is just one of the things that I love about Close To My Heart.  I will post more on these later too.
