School Project for 1st grade Readers Theater

My Grand Daughter was in first grade and they had their last Readers Theater before the end of school.  My DIL was the room Mom so she had to come up with different things during the year for the kids.  This is just one of many projects that we did together.  She made the butterfly hair clips for the girls, the butterflies were cut from my Indie Art Cricut cartridge at 3".  The Star was from Indie Art too cut at 3" and attached to a clip for the boys to wear on their shirts.
The photo holder is a binder clip/ photo holder was wrapped with paper and then the pleated fold strip of paper was used for the ribbon background.  Then the stamped oval plate with First grade was cut out and attached to the front.  We tied ribbon around the top of the clip and it was done.
A photo of each child was placed in the holder for them to have at the end of the year.

New Video from CMTH Trees and Things Stamp Set Video

Watch this new video:
My Acrylix® Trees & Things is the perfect stamp set for showing off lots of neat techniques, including rock 'n' roll, second generation, masking, and more! In this short video, we take these stamping methods to the next level of creativity on cards, a scrapbook page, and even a journal. Easy and fun for all your stamping-crazy customers or those just learning!

Photo Holders or in my case Card holders

If you are coming to Card Class on Tuesday June 28th you will see these.  I will be using them to display the cards that will be made in class.  I painted them with CMTH pearl paint and 3 drops of Watermelon re-inker.  The pearl paint adds a shimmer to the color and it is shinny when it dries.  I had fun creating these the only hard part was pulling the spring out to get the sides back in.  I just used scraps that I had from the Sweetheart and Sophia level 2 paper packs Some scraps of Gypsy and Sweet Leaf cardstock.  I made the little button flower that Connie Macfarlane made.  The ribbon rose is just the ribbon flower strip from CMTH and I cut into it and wrapped it tighter to get the look that I wanted. The key is part of the a chipboard set called Irresistibles Villa Die-Cut and when you sponge them there is a pattern that resist the ink.  I love these. I added some pearls and ribbon and tied more ribbon around the edges. Pretty easy other than waiting for the paint to dry.  Can you tell I am not very patient.  But I am learning....
I still have space available if you would like to come to class.  Let me know..

Quick Fix Tips because there are No Mistakes

We have a saying at my classes "There are no mistakes", well I thought here is a great place to talk about what you can do when you think or see that you have made a mistake!

When I made my Father's Day card below I cut the Chocolate Ribbon to short.  Oh no now what!!! Well since there are no mistakes and the center of the stamped part would cover the middle of the card I just cut the Chocolate ribbon in half.  So now the middle is where the ends do not meet and the outer edges look great.  No one will ever know. Shhhhhhhh!  It's our little secret.

Watch for more post like this....
Drop me a line if you have a problem and need a solution.  I would love to help you out.

Happy Father's Day

Here are 2 more Father's Day Cards plus a tile coaster that I stamped on the tile with staz-on and wrapped with a ribbon. Holy Stamp of the Month Batman

I saw this on  Mary Gunn's blog and had to make one.  It is so cute.  It is made with this months Stamp of Month Jubilation D1457 and our 1-1/4" circle punch.  I cut the City sky line from plantin Schoolbook in black cardstock with my Cricut.   I brayerd the sunset in yep! Sunset ink on Daisy White cardstock.   I stamped the bat in sunset on Daisy White cardstock then punched it out with our 1-1/4" circle punch and popped it up with 3D Foam tape. Then cut a fan shape from a piece of scarp in sunflower.  The Happy Birthday to you, is from the stamp set Happy Birthday C1257, another great stamp set to have on hand.  This months stamp set Jubilation D1457 has lots of great holiday as well as celebration and thank yous on it. To see another card made with this stamp set check under> Celebration for a 4th of July card that I made below.  This is a very versatile set that can be used all year long.   Be sure to get yours here ,you can actually get it at a discount or even free.  Check it out.

CMTH Products that I love

Exclusive Inks Organizer:
My CMTH Markers and Stamp pads are all kept in one place.  This tower is one of my favorites. It keeps all 60 colors at my fingertips and it is on a swivel base.  You can purchase a tray that fits on top (the handles lay down flat).  I use it to hold my StazOn Ink pads and some Re-inkers.  There is also a  padded Carrying Case that it all fits in.
This is one of my must haves.  It keeps it all in one place and with the swivel base you have access to every side of it.
You can purchase the Tower in one piece or in separates for the Stamp Pads or the Markers, the tray, and the base.
If you would like one just click on my shop with me button.  If you would like to know more about other products just let me know.  I love CMTH and I know you will too.  Click here to order yours.

An Album for my Grandson

My Grand daughter and I were working in my scrapbook room on her scrapbook.  My Grandson now is 5 came to me and said "Grandma how come I don't have a scrapbook"!  I said well you will now.  So I got out my chipboard stach and went through it to find two pieces about the same size.  I found two that I could cut to 91/2 x 93/4. I use my corner rounder on the right sides, punched two holes with my crop-a-dile and whala  an album was made.  I loaded it with some 9x9 page protectors that I had.  Put 2 binder rings in. Then Cut some Colonial White cardstock and placed in side the page protectors.  For the Cover I use some of the papers that were out on my table from a previous project.  It was from the Lucky Level 2 Pack.  Then I added some ribbon on the cover and to the binder rings.  This is what it looks like.
The Stamp Set is a discontinued one from CMTH
The R is cut from my Cricut using Blackletter at 2" a long time ago and just taped on my dry erase board.
All the pieces were left over so I used them as is.
The jean and levis were stamped in Outdoor Denim cut and torn to look like an old piece of the seams on jeans these were the only 2 pieces that I had to make for this cover.
One scrap of paper is from Wings level 2 paper pack.
I sponge the edges with Outdoor Denim.
Since every thing was already in my scrapbook room. It only took me about 20 min. to assemble. It took me way longer to type this up. I had some left over stars and circle punches from the Celebrate Card below that I tucked inside of the first page for him to use as he would like.
He had the biggest smile on his face when I gave it to him.  He gets to deside what goes into it.  He put pics of his cousins and family.

This was a very fun project and it made him happy too!
