February My Creations Display Album

Here is the February page for our Display Album that we are making in class every month.  My DIL Jennifer makes creates these and the Ladies in class love them.  Jenn does a great job creating these and February is no exception.  The page says it all.  The hearts are cut out using the Cricut and the Art Philosophy cartridge.
When you have to cut 20 per album page and we have 15 ladies in our group well the Cricut is the star.  You just pick your image, pick your size, and the quantity.  When you use the quantity key you don't have to count them one by one.  It keeps track for you.  If you ask it to cut 100 and it will only cut 75 per page it will keep all the info.  You just put a new paper on your mat load it and press cut, it will cut the other 25 for you.  So simple!
Can you tell I just love my Cricut.  Would you like to see all the other pages click here.

Happy Valentine's Day card #3

This is another card that we did in Class.  I love the way it turned out.  I had some left over Colonial White card stock cut out at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" from another class.  I folded it in half so it was 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 but I needed it to be square so I cut off one side to make it a
4 1/4x 4 1/4 and left a little strip so I made it into a very simple book mark.  I had fun creating this card and using up some of my stash.  The Close To My Heart Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge was used to cut the ribbon holder where we stamped the Love on.  The rose and the leaves were stamped on different colord cardstock (listed below) and then cut out.  My favorite Rose is called Gingersnap so I am always trying to make one that looks like that.

On the book mark I used Red paper clips that I had and a small heart that I cut out with my AP at 3/4" and one of the CTMH pre-cut Butterflies.
The inside of the card was stamped with the Rose, Leaves, and a scroll for the border.
All items used are CMTH unless otherwise noted.

Happy Valentine's Day Card 2

Here is another card we did in class.  This is so simple to do thanks to the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge and my Gypsy.

I used the heart card from the AP cartridge in my Gypsy.  Then I hide the heart and replaced it with the scrolled heart from the Weddings cartridge.  I then hide the outside of that heart.  I joined them together so it was all out lined in Red.  I was able to get two on one mat.  So quick and easy.

I always say that with the my Cricut and my Gypsy I am only limited by imagination...  Okay sometime that is not much but as you can see with this card you don't need much.  I literally did this in about 10 min or less.
I just love the Daisy White and the Baby Pink.  This would be great as a Valentine Card, Wedding Card, Shower Card, Missing you, on and on.  So simple and cute don't you think?

All products listed are CTMH unless otherwise noted.

Cardstock:
Daisy White
Baby Pink

Blush Buttons
New Paradise Assortment Bakers Twine-  you get 10 yards each of 4 colors on one card.

Happy Valentine's Day Card

This months Card Class was all about Valentine's Day.  We used the Art Philosophy cartridge for everything.  I just love how useful all the cuts are on this cart.  This is the pillow box cut and one of the layered hearts.  It is so easy to put together too.
The pillow box with the heart was made by one of my customers Jeannie Jeffers.  She brought everything pre-cut and all ready to sponge, emboss, glitter and put together for our classes.  She even showed how to emboss the band and glitter the heart.  The ribbon just put the icing on the cake!
By putting the band on after the pillow box is sponged, put together and puffed out was her great tip so that the box keeps its shape.
The heart was spray glued and the glitter was sprinkled on with a spoon.  She keeps her glitter with a plastic spoon in a Ziploc container.  That was another great tip for the class.  Jeannie did a great job and everyone just loved what she did.
We have a guest designer each month in class they are one of the members that wants to make something and teach it to all of us.  That is so much fun..

This would be a great Gift Card Holder or even a Sweet Treat Holder too.

Thanks Jeannie we all loved it.

I still have a couple extra if you want to make one.  Just let me know.

Gift Cards Holder

This is such a great idea.  Just use a binder clip and punch a hole it the corner of your Gift Card then place it on your binder ring.  Be sure to put ribbons and or anything else that you like to make it cute.
You can do this for the ones you already have then you just grab them an go.  They are all in one spot.
So Simple yet so handy.  This is just on of the many great ideas that my DIL Jenn came up with.

I Just Had To Share This

My wonderful DIL Jenn is the room Mom for my GS's Kindergarten class.
Jenn is very talented and loves making cards, scrapbooking, and doing all kinds of projects with me.  We are very close and I am sure that our love of crafting, gardening, the kids, and of course my Son help keep us that way.
Jenn made this VIP book for my GS's Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Davis.  Each child colored one page about Mrs. Davis and then put their name on the back.  It goes like this. Who has blond hair to comb?  Mrs. Davis has blond hair to comb.
There are 32 pages each with different questions (usually about the Birthday child).  The kids draw and color a picture of what ever the question was about, like Mrs. Davis with her blond hair.  The questions are about things she loves to do, place she loves to go, and about her family and friends.  Then Mrs. Davis and the kids sing what is on each page.  Mrs. Davis had no idea that this was going to happen to her let alone about her.  You see Mrs. Davis's birthday is Dec. 23rd so every year because her birthday is during Christmas break not much happens for her.  But this year when they gave her the book before break she couldn't believe it.  The kids sang the song about her and she loved it.  Yes there were tears...
Here is the cover to the book:
Here is just one of the pages in the book.  You can see why this is so special and a one of a kind gift for sure.
The VIP book is usually done for each child about that child and given to them on their birthday.  The kids just love getting theirs.  On the last page Jenn put a special spot for Mrs. Davis to put a class photo.  What a great keepsake.
The covers are made from chipboard and covered with the Typeset paper.
The Typeset paper packet from Close to My Heart was a perfect choice to use with all the letters and numbers on the papers.  All the items were cut using the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  All the ribbons, pins, cork letters are also from CTMH.   It is so nice to have all the paper and cardstock that coordinate together in one pack.
The Stars are cut with the AP cartridge scored and folded and stamped all with CTMH products. The stamp set is the one that comes with the Typeset Workshop on the go you can see it and the paper here.

Let her know what you think.

January My Creations Display Album

I almost forgot to post the January page of our Display Album that we made in December.  My DIL creates these pages for the My Creations Display Album Z1054.  Everyone in class seems to love what she does.  I know that I do.  When I asked in class what they would like to do in this coming year everyone said more cards, and can we just keep going with the Display Album so we have new pages for the up coming year.  So guess what!  Jenn agreed to keep doing them.  So I will just keep posting them.
Just in case you didn't know....  These would make great 12x12 scrapbook pages too.  I hope that you can see the shimmer on the top of the page it is always hard to photograph.  She used the spray pen with water and pearl paint, no ink.  The picture does not do this justice in any way.  The Daisy White ink does not show up very well either.  But in person it is beautiful.  The stamped saying on the bottom right says Winter Wonderland.  Have I mentioned in this post yet that I Love the Art Philosophy Cartridge from Close To My Heart. Well I do!  Cutting out all the snowflakes and the snowballs for everyone in class or trying to make multiple card with these on them would take for ever.  Now with the Cricut you just select the total that you need and press cut and it is done.  I just love that.  No more punching or scissors to get the job done.  With the complementary Stamp images that are available from CTMH it makes a perfect fit.  The stamp sets have the size that you need to cut it out at right on the stamp set.  No more waisted paper trying to fiugre it out.

Calendar for the New Year 2012

I love having a hand made calendar for the year.  After seeing what the design team came up with at Close To My Heart I used it as my inspiration for my 2012 calendar.
I am in love with the Juniper and Barn Red colors together.  I also added Sunset ink.  I did use binder rings instead of the bling pins.  I also needed to have the numbers and months attached or I would never see them again. LOL!
So here is what I came up with.
Using the 12x12 does make a big calendar. But over all I like it.

Cardstock is Juniper
Ink:  Sunset, Chocolate, and Barn Red
Scallop square is cut from the Art Philosophy at 3"
The squares are 2 1/2, 25 of them all together out of colonial white
Stamp Sets used are:
Bohemian Alphabet, Happy Journey, Rock the Block, Today's Date
I used my Big Bite to punch the holes.

You'll have to let me know what you think.

Diaper Cake for my Daughters Baby Shower

Talk about time flying.  One year ago we were getting ready for my Daughters Baby Shower.  We had it at our local Resturant Guadalahara.  I made all the favors, banners, diaper cake, onsies and dress cut outs for leaving words of wisdom for the new mother -to- be, and an Altered Compisition Book to list all the gifts and who gave them.
Since I started my blog in May 2011 I guess I never posted all the goodies that I made.  I had just gotten my Imagine for Christmas so the push was on to get every thing done in time.  I had so much fun, my DIL helped me put eveything together.  My DIL (Jenn) and I have made lots of invitations and shower favors and all the goodies that go with them.  We were calling ourselves the It Girls, if you need It we can make It, and we did.  But this time it was extra special it was for my Daugher.
Here is the Diaper Cake.  I just wish I had my Art Philosophy Cartridge to make all flowers.  They were all cut using 4x4 squares trimed, folded, rolled and sponged.  Days and Day of it.

When we came home from the shower and we were unloading the car my 5 year old Grandson was standing by the car and watching everything come out.  You could tell that he had something on his mine but he just keeped standing there and waiting.  Finally he asked me "Grandama didn't you just come from the baby shower"?  Yes we did I said, then he put his arms up in the air and asked "then where is the baby"?  We all just started laughing.  You never know what they are thinking.

I will post more pictures soon.

Happy New Year 2012

I hope that all of you had a safe and happy New Year.
It has been kind of lazy day today just hanging out with 2 of my Grand Kids.  I got a new Cricut cartridge Sweet Tooth Boxes so we decided to just play around with some of the boxes and here is one of them.

We had fun putting the little sweet treat house together.  I like the fact that it is cut from 2 piece so that you can make it on the larger side.
It is a milk carton design and all the other ones are one piece so you are limited to the length of paper.  But since this is 2 separate pieces that you glue together it lets you make a larger on from a 12x12.  This one was cut at 11 3/4".
I had to use the paper that I had with me but I think it turned out ok.  My grand daughter was having fun helping me put it together and choosing which papers to use.
We made a tool box for her brother and a small box for my youngest grand daughter that did not get to come with us.
I will fill up them up with candy and something special for each of them for Valentine's.
All the products used were Close to my Heart.
Paper Pack:  Roxie
Cardstock:  Sunny Yellow, Olive, Desert Sand.

I just love the little Sweets sign.
