I made my friend Bert (Roberta) a couple of gifts with my Cricut Maker and my Cricut Easy Press. She loves Pigs and flying Pigs are her favorite. I got a bag at Walmart that has a little purse with it and I found a Tee Shirt I thought she might like.
The flying pig was an image I found on the internet that I uploaded into Design Space. The image of the palm trees and saying were from Lori Kori. I bought the image and it said The Palm Trees are calling I must Go. After I bought it I hid Palm Trees are and added Compound is. I love how it turned out. I think she will too!
Here is my video of my first Junk Journal all sewed together. I am not done yet but it was together enough for me to take to my Close To My Heart convention in Las Vegas. I loved using it. It turned out better than I thought it would. Take a look and let me know what you think.
Woo Hoo! I have more Happy Mail from Lani. She is a Stampin Up Demonstrator and I am a Close to My Heart Consultant and we love to share what we have extras of. I gave her a bag of goodies and this is what she gave back to me.
Thanks Lani, I just love it all!
Today I did have to go to Hobby Lobby and get some more Eyelash Trim. What! Here is what I bought.
Thanks for stopping by and on Friday I should have more progress on my Junk Journal. Its starting to come together.
I have been working on an old suitcase that my Sister-in-law Lani gave me. She really didn't want to part with it, I could tell. We have been sharing things with each other from our craftrooms. I have shared the Happy Mail that she has given me you can see that here.
I loved how the suitcase looked with the leather straps on it. I forgot to take a picture before I started but got this one that you can see how rough it was. I decoupaged over the top with some map pages that I ripped up.
I left the handle, corners, and straps exposed because they were leather and still in good shape. I love how it is turning out. It is pretty bright white, I am not liking that so much! I should have coffee dyed the maps before I ripped them up and put them on. Now I am going to have to stain it or maybe some ink will help. I will have to explore these possibilities further. Leave me what you would do in the comments below. You can see the maps that I coffee dyed here.
I found a Free Printable vintage map of Europe and downloaded it into Design Space and used it on an the background of an image to make various sizes of this Paris image. I will decoupage the smallest one onto my suitcase. I will post a photo of it when I have it on the suitcase.
Today I am cutting out all kinds of Tuck spots for my Junk Journal. I am using my Pretty Pennants Cricut cartridge and cutting out everything I think would make a cute tuck spot. I won't use them all in one signature but I will have plenty to choose from. I will not leave them plain either (my mind is spinning at all the possibilities). Not sure if I will coffee dye these but I will grunge them up a bit.
Here is the first mat. I used CTMH Nutmeg but the lighting sure makes it lighter. The true color shows better in the 2nd photo.
These are all the tops and a better example of the CTMH Nutmeg. I am going to have fun with these. The Celebrate at the bottom was just because I liked it. But you never know where it might show up at, in, or on. LOL!
Here they are shown with the backs and I chose CTMH Almond for that. Now you see the Celebrate better in this one. Now I have plenty to chose from. I can use them as pockets or tuck spots. I made them in several sizes so that should work too.
Has it already been a month since our last Kard Club Swap? Wow, time really does fly.
Last night we all met at Laurie's house. It was Lynn's turn to host and because she lives farther away Laurie offered her home so we didn't have to drive so far. Thanks Laurie for that!
We always have a great time getting together and chatting with each other. Fun group of ladies.
Lets get started! First up is Debb, she was not there but took her cards to Laurie's early so we would have them. She used a wood grain embossing folder, first she inked the embossing folder then cut the fence shapes out of that and then added the nail heads with a marker. She used a die cut for the grass.
Next we have Kathy's. She used a playing card and rounded the opposite corners. She used papers from her stash, embossed the Celebrate and added some pretty gems.
This is Donna's and she used the Stampin Up Star Punch. The hello is a die cut.
Laurie used an Art Impressions die to make this cut card and every part of the knife moves and is stamped with a cute saying. You will be able to see this better in my video.
Then we have Lynn's she used Ann Griffith paper, a star punch and the stamp is from
Taylor expressions.
Erin use her Paper Pumpkin kit to make this one. We even got a cute envelope to go with it.
Cathy made this one and she splattered the star, the circle was a Sizzix die, the rock was a Cricut cut, the Wolf was a Spellbinders die, the Trees are Cottage Cutz.
Jeannine Use her Distinctive Impressions stamp for this one.
These are mine and I always make extra just in case. I used the Free Printables from The Navage Patch. I also used the G45 Regular Tag &m Gears Metal Dies.
Lynn also had a make and take for us to do. So here is the Pin Wheel that we made.
So that is it for this Month, we don't meet in July (to much going on). The Aug one is at my house and our theme is Travel. That should be a fun one. Who doesn't love Travel
Here is my Video of all the cards and the insides too.
A while back I posted a Notepad Folio that I made and said that I would have a video up soon. Well it is not exactly soon but here it is. Is short so have a look
You can see my post all about it here!
